Top Ten Tuesday: Facts About Me

1. I am an avid reader.

I love reading.  And have always loved reading.  I especially remember my 5th grade teacher giving me books as gifts and prizes, as well as my grandma, a 3rd grade teacher at the time, also giving me books as gifts.  This helped feed my love for reading.

2. I am a librarian.

I graduated with an MLS degree with an emphasis in services for children and young adults in December of 2014.  I would love to be a children's or teen librarian some day.

3. One of my greatest passions: There is a book out there for everyone.

Picture
I am extreamly passionate about the fact that there is always a book out there for everyone.  Even that person that originally states that he/she does not read or does not like to read.  I believe it is just a matter of time and finding them the "right" book to pull them in!

4. I love libraries.

Whenever I travel I always like to check out the local libraries.  I have come across some beautiful libraries.  I also have come across several online lists of best libraries.  Check out my Pinterest board for Libraries.

5. I love kids.

I have always loved kids.  When I was growing up I used to go tend a bunch of the neighborhood kids all the time and I loved it.  That may in part have influenced my desire to become a children's or teen librarian.

6. I love music.

As much as I love books, I also love music.  While going to college for my undergraduate degree I studied School LIbrary Administration and Vocal Music.  I currently have a small private voice studio and where I teach young adults how to improve their singing skills and techniques.

So what about you?  Share something about yourself with me in the comments.

Thanks, Sydney! I think I already knew a lot of this about you, but it was fun to read it! I love reading, of course, but I also love read/review/influencing for authors--mostly Christian fiction authors. I really enjoy interacting with them on Facebook and find they are such awesome, friendly people! I enjoy genealogy, music, and being with my family. I have a dual degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Development. I taught preschool for a few years after my children were older. I'm retired and loving it!

I love God, love my family, love to read, love to volunteer. Also, I am happy to report that I am an 11 years breast cancer survivor. :-)
