About the Book
Had fate and nature not conspired, Alyce Redgrave would have been a child of wealth and privilege. But the night of her birth was shadowed by an eerie Devils Moon and her christening day marred by a fierce hailstorm—ill omens that led the superstitious peasants to seek Alyce's life. Desperate to save her infant daughter, Alyce's mother flees with her baby, finding shelter and goodwill at the isolated farm of strangers . . .
There, Alyce's life is filled with secrets, unanswered questions, and a sense of foreboding. Her worst fears are realized when she narrowly escapes the clutches of a murderer by fleeing into the forest. Fate steps in once more to change the course of her life when Alyce is found and taken in by Elspeth, a wise woman with the uncanny ability to commune with nature. Trained by Elspeth in the art of healing, Alyce remains haunted by the puzzle of her past until she discovers her mother's lost pendant. With the help of this object and the aid of the enchanting William Pascoe, Alyce finally holds the key to who she once was and who she will become. About the AuthorReview
Author Carol Warburton has written a sweet story in her The Whispered Dance of Bees. The first two thirds of the story has more of a women’s fiction feel, with a bit of romance in the last third of the book. The story’s a bit slow in the beginning. There’s also a part where the main character, Alyce loses a necklace as a child and it randomly shows up when she’s eighteen or so; this seems a bit unrealistic. Readers will enjoy how the book is split into different sections indicating the different parts of Alyce’s life. This tale is a light easy read that readers of historical romance and women’s fiction will enjoy.

Chalon Linton was first introduced to Jane Austen by a dear friend and now she can’t get enough of handsome men in tailcoats. Her intrigue in the genre stems from a nostalgic longing for manners, wit, and true love. Fortunately, Chalon found her dashing gentleman, married him, and now lives happily ever after in Southern California.
Review
Going against her typical historical fiction, author Chalon Linton has written an endearing and sweet contemporary romance that readers will enjoy. Linton has written a love story dealing with hurt, betrayal, and new beginnings. It’s about finding love when least expected and the couple overcoming the obstacles put in their path, including various family dynamics, as well as the military. This is an authentic romance story that readers will easily connect with. Although a bit predictable at times, this is a cute story that readers will appreciate.

Review
In her novel A Change of Fortune, author Traci Hunter Abramson has written a sweet contemporary romance, that although different than her typical romantic suspense, readers will enjoy. The first third was a bit hard to get into, as it seemed readers are just waiting for the father to die so that the next part of the story can begin. After that, the story picks up a bit. A main focus in this story is on family and relationships, including trust and love, as well as leaning on others in times of need. This is definitely a quick and easy to read feel good story.

ExcerptTo her right some of the underbrush swayed. Fighting her rising feelings of terror, Jayne looked up to see if the leaves above her still moved in the wind. To her relief they were being tossed back and forth in much the same way as the bushes. Breathing deeply to calm her nerves, she told herself to quit being so jumpy. Resolved to head back to the house as soon as possible, Jayne hastened to finish investigating her discovery. She crouched, ready to flee at the smallest indication of danger, and rummaged around in the dirt and leaves until her fingers found what she was looking for. Beneath a layer of plant matter and earth sat a mound of coals. She laid a hand on the rough pile. The coals felt like they were still warm. Desperately wanting to be wrong, Jayne pressed her other hand to the pile. To her cold fingers the warmth, though slight, was unmistakable. Unwilling to let on to whoever had lit the fire that it had been discovered, Jayne scooped up dirt and piled it back in place. Fingers trembling, she scattered leaves and twigs around to hide all signs of meddling. Unsatisfied with her attempts, she moved sideways, trying to get away from the soft dirt to a spot where a low-growing branch sheltered the ground from dampness. From this position, her feet didn’t sink into the ground so much. The toe of her shoe knocked against something, and it rolled away with a metallic ring. She drew in her breath as the sound pierced the silence. Her heart thumping, she crouched down, glad for the shelter of the leaves, and felt around in the hollow beneath the branches. She touched something cold and rough, and as she pulled away, another ting rang out. All her nerves screamed at her to flee, but she had to find out what lay in the shadows. --Chapter 11, Jayne's Endeavour ReviewJane’s Endeavour is author Lauren Compton’s debut novel. It is a sweet story about a young woman and her sisters. It focuses on a strong bond of family and hope for the future, especially in the legacy of their family’s farm and keeping it intact. The story is a little slow to get into, as well as no romance in the story, which is a bit different. This is a light and fairly quick read that readers will enjoy.
