But here she is, about to start a new life with her children, Jackson and Anoria. Cynthia plans to focus on her career and her family; she's not looking for romance and she's definitely not looking for sexy cowboy, Colby Schroder. Running from the Cowboy by Cami Checketts Missy Horman escaped an abusive marriage and returns to Snow Valley to help her father deal with her emotionally disturbed mother. But, Missy wasn't the only one affected and Porter's new mission in life is to prove that there's more to him than flirting and world-tilting kisses. The Bet by Taylor Hart When Destiny Morningstar gets blackmailed into spending her spring break in Snow Valley, the last thing she’s looking for is a date, especially not with Adam and Chase Moon—two attractive and athletic brothers. At every turn she's within kissing distance of one of the delectable Moon men. When she discovers she’s been part of some bet fueled by sibling rivalry and overactive egos she has to make a decision—forgive them both or miss out on the best thing that’s ever happened to her. Sealed with a Kiss by Kimberley Montpetit Jessica Mason and Pastor James are struggling to make their long-distance relationship work between Snow Valley and New Orleans where Jessica dances with the local ballet company. Can Jessica and James figure out how to create a family while living in two different states—or do they allow their hearts to move on and forget the passion they once shared? Catastrophe is looming over the Central Valley of California. The honeybees, vital to the economy of this agricultural epicenter, are dying at an unprecedented rate. The U.S. government is desperate for answers, and researchers at the University of California–Riverside are tasked with providing them. But when the professors assigned to the investigation seem to be systematically dying under mysterious circumstances, it becomes clear that there is something sinister at play. Following the murders of her mentors, it’s up to entomology student Tiana Lambrose to move forward with the research. Special Agent Stu Whiteleather, part of a team of FBI agents assigned to assist in the investigation, is immediately drawn to the lovely entomologist. Together, they discover a breed of bees engineered to be killing machines, which, despite Tiana’s expertise, are like nothing she’s seen before. The question is, who could possibly have the sophisticated technology to engineer these specialized insects and for what motive? The perpetrator will stop at nothing to keep investigators from finding the answer. As threats to Tiana’s life escalate, Stu must battle an unknown foe to protect the woman for whom he has come to care before she becomes the next victim.

A murder case involving a bee… Now that is not your everyday suspense novel. And what a fantastic twist it is for acclaimed LDS author Clair M. Poulson’s novel Silent Sting. Everything is not as it should be with the local bee hives and a study is underway to discover why the bees are dying. But in the mix of everything going on, the head researcher and mentor of Tiana Lambrose is found dead in his office. Now it is up to Tiana and the FBI agents that are helping her to solve the case and save the bees before it is too late. With intense twists and turns that will leave readers guessing what will happen next, Clair has created a story filled with characters that readers will absolutely love. I would recommend this novel to readers that enjoy LDS suspense novels.

At seven she relocated with her adopted family and saw the Statue of Liberty and America for the first time. But the memory of those years in Germany inspired her to write Refiner's Fire, which won a Silver Angel Award, and was a Christy Finalist. Her frequent moves as an "army brat" gave her an opportunity to see America and fall in love with her new country. Bambola has authored eight novels, has two grown children and teaches women's Bible studies. ReviewThe Daughters of Jim Farrell by Sylia Bambola is interesting historical fiction read. It is about the three daughters of Jim Farrell, a man that was hung for murder. His daughters hire a Pinkerton man to come learn the truth of what really happened to their father and why he was accused of murder. The Bartered Bride (The Brides Series #3) by Lena Goldfinch -- Book Tour Review + Giveaway
3/29/2016
When Jem steps into Annie's life, she's not expecting anyone to save her. Mute from birth, she's just using all her wits to survive. All she's ever really wanted is a family of her own. For someone to see her. To look at her long enough to hear the things she can't say.
Could this bride be just what a grieving widower needs to make a happy home? The Brides Series Books 1-3
LENA GOLDFINCH writes sweet historical western romance / inspirational romance and books for teens. She’s always been a sucker for a good old-fashioned romance, whether it’s a novel or short story, young adult or adult, fantasy or realistic, contemporary or historical. Lena has been a finalist in several national writing contests, including the RWA Golden Heart and ACFW Genesis contests. She enjoys life in a quiet, small town with her husband, two kids, and two very spoiled Black Labs.
Jem took the apple core from his daughter and passed her one of the remaining crackers with a piece of cheese on it. Mae munched that down and looked to him immediately for another, the last one.
He gave it to her, then showed her his empty hands. She frowned. "More?" "No more," Jem said, and showed her his empty hands again, making a bigger gesture out of it, as if the little girl was accusing him of hiding some. If Annie weren't so intent on eating her share of cheese and crackers she might have smiled at the sight of them, one of the most dangerous men she'd ever seen sitting side by side with that tiny little girl. They made quite a mismatched pair. Mae looked over at Annie, at the last cracker in her hand and the last bit of cheese. Annie gulped down the mouthful she was chewing. She looked down at the last of her meal and back at the little girl. To her shame, she didn't want to give up her last cracker. She could barely remember the last meal she'd eaten. "That's Annie's food," Jem admonished the little girl. "You've had yours." Mae bit her lip. She glanced down at her lap, then back at Annie again. I can share, Annie attempted to tell Mae with her eyes alone. She snapped her cracker in half--simply unable to bear parting with the whole thing--and passed it across to the little girl. Mae took it and popped the whole thing in her mouth, making Annie smile. "Mae!" her father said. She looked at him wide-eyed, her mouth full of cracker. "Whaf dafdda?" she said, muffled, spraying a few cracker crumbs onto his trousers. He closed his eyes briefly and brushed them off. "You didn't have to give her any," he said to Annie, "but thanks." Annie grunted, her way of saying she didn't mind that much. She looked down quickly and finished her last bit of food. The crackers had been crispy and the cheese silky and smooth. They'd tasted like heaven. "You must be thirsty," he said. "Do you mind sharing?" She shook her head and automatically lifted two fingers. "Two's no?" he asked. She nodded, pleased, and lifted one finger. She'd grown up sending signals through the floor of the Ruskins' house, one stomp for yes, two for no. It came natural as rain now. "And one's yes," he said, catching on quick. Annie drank deep when he passed her the flask of water, amazed he'd let her drink from it. She tried her best to pour it down her throat without touching her lips to the flask, so he wouldn't regret giving it to someone so dirty. She wished she could tell him thanks, but after Mae had her fill and he took his own swallow, he was back under his hat, likely going over the events of the day. How he'd stuck himself with her. How he probably regretted even stepping off the train at the last stop. She couldn't say she blamed him. She hadn't much wanted to marry a stranger herself.
Lena Goldfinsh has written a beautiful and delightful story in The Bartered Bride, book three in The Brides Series. Set in Colorado Springs, this western novel is filled with fun, adventure, and of course romance. Jem Wheeler recently lost his wife and is still grieving for her, but when he comes across Annie, a woman who cannot speak and over hears that she is to be sold off. Jem intercedes, paying enough money that Annie does not have to go with the evil man and purchasing the nearby dog as well. After removing them from the situation, Jem’s and Annie’s lives revolve around taking care of Mae, Jem’s daughter, and helping around the family ranch. But danger lurks nearby as the man that previously attempted to buy Annie lives on a neighboring ranch. But Jem determines to protect Annie. This novel also brings to light the struggle that Jem and Annie have with their relationship, as well as, in communicating with one another. But somehow, they find away, and eventually they attend a school and learn to sign. As complicated as Jem and Annie’s romance may seem at the beginning, throughout the story it grows and blossoms into a marvelous and wonderful, soft affair. I would recommend this novel to readers that enjoy western romance novels.

Love at Mistletoe Inn by Cindy Kirk
After a slightly confusing introduction to the story and after a few pages of reading, I grasped the concept that and cute story idea of two young people, Hope and John, falling in love and having a shotgun wedding. But after being apart for ten years and believing that their marriage was not valid, when in reality it was, this changes everything. Although the storyline had great promise, I felt like the relationship between Hope and John was a bit forced. I did however enjoy the ending of the story. 3 stars A Brush with Love by Rachel Hauck At age twelve Ginger Winters was in a tragic fire leaving scars on her body. Now a beautician, Ginger doesn’t know what to make of her previous high-school crush when he returns to town twelve years after not showing up their first date. Ginger is especially confused when Tom tells her she is beautiful, scars and all. Ginger and Tom’s relationship is beautiful and precious. As always, author Rachel Hauck brings life and feeling into her characters and wonderful stories. 5 stars Serving Up a Sweethheart by Cheryl Wyatt After the roof caves in on her double home and catering business, a bully from Meadow’s past comes to her aid to rebuild her home and kitchen. It was a relationship designed to unite not two young people in love, but two powerful kingdoms. And for Princess Karlinah, eldest daughter of King Lamoni, her marriage to the haughty heir to the throne of Jersusalem has led to a life of fear and abuse. There seems to be no escape—until her husband is murdered and Karlinah is unexpectedly free to return to her father’s kingdom. She can begin again—but no one can ever know of the part she played in the prince’s demise . . . Karlinah’s relief is short-lived, for upon her return to the land of Ishmael, she is once again swept into her father’s plans for a politically powerful marriage. Then the arrival of a young missionary in her father’s court changes everything: her family is converted to a new religion, and Karlinah is free to choose her path. Yet she is not so easily convinced by the words of Ammon—especially when repentance means confessing her crime. But as her faith grows and a young stone artisan captures her heart, Karlinah realizes that she must face the consequences of her past in order to move forward with her future.
About the Author
Renae Weight Mackley doesn’t claim to have experienced that lightning-bolt moment of belief in the gospel; she’s always been a line-upon-line believer. So the chance to vicariously live the life of a spunky Lamanite princess who has a hard time being convinced of anything is tempting—as long as she eventually reaches that inspiring, happy ending. Though no one has called her a princess since childhood, some know her as wife; mother; grandmother; former substitute teacher; and creator of music, fiber arts, good food, and the written word.
Review

Is Andy for real or too good to be true? She’s been deceived once before, and she isn’t planning on experiencing it again. About the AuthorSuzanne Woods Fisher is an award-winning, bestselling author whose most recent novels include Anna’s Crossing and The Inn at Eagle Hill series, as well as nonfiction books about the Amish, including Amish Peace and The Heart of the Amish. She lives in California. Previous Interview with Suzanne Woods FisherReviewIn her latest release, author Suzanne Wood Fisher’s The Imposter, she has written a beautiful and inspiring Amish story about mistakes, love, and forgiveness. From page one, Suzanne hooks readers with her relatable characters and delightful story. The Imposter is well written with not only the story of the main character taking place, but also Katriina’s brother, father, some friends, and hired help. These stories all interconnect exquisitely, moving the story along and capturing the heart of readers. Readers will not only enjoy this story once, but will want to read it again and again. I would recommend this novel to readers that enjoy Amish fiction, as well as Suzanne’s other novels. Series: The Bishop’s Family Genre: Amish; romance; Christian Publisher: Fleming H.
