Author InterviewCheck out the interview with the author HERE. ReviewFrom page one Angie Dicken’s debut historical western romance novel is an absolute delight. This is such a fun, entertaining, enjoyable, and sweetly romantic story that readers will thoroughly enjoy. Dicken brings to life the hardships of living in the Wild West and trying to make a claim and a name for oneself. And of course, who doesn’t love a story with some excitement with a handsome outlaw. This story focuses on themes of family, friendship, working hard, fulfilling dreams, and of course romance. This light, sweet, fairly quick read, is a story that readers of western romance will not want to miss.

ReviewRich historical details and plenty of action bring to life the third book in the People of the Book trilogy, Straight Flies the Arrow, by Sydney Tooman Betts. This story once again continues the trilogy and brings the series to a sad, but delightful end. Betts has a way of bringing writing her characters as if they are jumping off the pages and coming to life. Fans of historical fiction will love this deeply research historical novel. Once again, the story tends to drag a little bit in places, but if readers will push on, they will come to love this novel. Readers interested in Native American history will thoroughly enjoy this story. ReviewA continuation of the People of the Book series, Sydney Tooman Betts brings to life book two in her story, Light Bird’s Song. Once again Betts has thoroughly researched her story and captivates readers with her beautiful story of the Indians and their traditions, as well as their belief in and strong relationship with God. Once again this story was a bit slow in some places, but the story and the historical details are enough to keep readers forging on. There is a strong Christian faith base in the pages of this story as well. Readers will not want to miss the next installment of this historically detailed series.

About the BookWhen Harriet Beecher marries Calvin Stowe on January 6, 1836, she is sure her future will be filled romance, eventually a family, and continued opportunities to develop as a writer. Her husband Calvin is completely supportive and said she must be a literary woman. Harriet's sister, Catharine, worries she will lose her identity in marriage, but she is determined to preserve her independent spirit. Deeply religious, she strongly believes God has called her to fulfill the roles of wife and writer and will help her accomplish everything she was born to do. Two months after her wedding Harriet discovers she is pregnant just as Calvin prepares to leave for a European business trip. Alone, Harriet is overwhelmed-being a wife has been harder than she thought and being an expectant mother feels like living another woman's life. Knowing that part of Calvin still cherishes the memory of his first wife, Harriet begins to question her place in her husband's heart and yearns for his return; his letters are no substitute for having him home. When Calvin returns, however, nothing seems to have turned out as planned. Struggling to balance the demands of motherhood with her passion for writing and her desire to be a part of the social change in Ohio, Harriet works to build a life with her beloved Calvin despite differing temperaments and expectations. Can their love endure, especially after "I do"? Can she recapture the first blush of new love and find the true beauty in her marriage? About the AuthorJosi S. Kilpack hated to read until her mother handed her a copy of The Witch of Blackbird Pond when she was 13. From that day forward, she read everything she could get her hands on and credits her writing “education” to the many novels she has “studied” since then. She began writing her first novel in 1998 and has written twenty-five novels, one cookbook, and been part of multiple collaborations since then. She is a four-time Whitney Award winner and Best of State winner in Fiction. Josi currently lives in Willard, Utah, with her husband and children. When Kensington Press picked up her first national women's fiction novel, As Wide as the Sky, Josi was in need of a pen name to differentiate between her other genres. For years, Josi has bee called Jessica Pack by people who hear her name but don't know her, it made her new pen name easy to choose. As Wide as the Sky will be released in paperback sometime in 2018. Of one person only is she certain, but will he come for her before it is too late? ReviewSydney Tooman Betts has written a fabulous historical romance that fans of this genre will thoroughly enjoy. With rich and beautiful historic details, Bets brings to life the time of the story, 1817, to life magnificently. Although the first chapters start out a little slow. Readers easily become attached to the characters and the story, continuing to read to find out what will happen next. Will the romance of the story go the way a reader expects or will it take a turn? The characters in this book have a strong relationship with God and try to follow His way. This has a strong Christian focus, as well as a delightful romance, and interesting and detailed and researched history. Readers will not want to miss this sometimes intense, but pleasant read.
