ReviewAlthough a little slow to start, Terri Wangard has crafted a detailed, well-researched, and powerful story going back and forth between the front lines and the homefront of WWI. Readers will be enthralled with this story as they are sucked into the rough situations German-Americans were put into due to the war and the fact that they were part German even if they had been born in the United States. The story shows the reality of the terrifying times, as well as the better times. This is a wonderful historical novel that readers will enjoy.
