Tea Shop Folly (A Teacup Courtship Novella #4) by Carrie Fancett Pagels -- Review + Giveaway

8/9/2016

About the Book

Picture
Almost destitute, Lilly has run out of hope when she inherits her great-aunt’s home -- but it’s not the Tea Shop that a handsome young gentleman thinks it is. Lilly’s inherited house is crammed full of tea cups. Theo, a Soo Locks engineer, visits frequently in the hopes he will find the perfect antique teacup for his mother and is charmed by the lovely 'Shoppe owner.’ Lilly can’t turn the bachelor away when he persistently peruses her aunt’s collection, which she’s trying to pack up and remove from the house. Is the man only interested in the teacups, or in her? When Theo begins referring people to Lilly, and the genuine Tea Shoppe owner sets the police on Lilly for her lack of a business license, sparks fly!

About the Author

Picture
Former “Yooper” Carrie Fancett Pagels writes Christian historical romances about overcoming. She grew up in Upper Peninsula of Michigan, where many of her stories are set. Possessed with an overactive imagination, that wasn't "cured" by twenty-five years as a psychologist, she loves bringing characters to life. Carrie and her family reside in Virginia’s Historic Triangle, which is perfect for her fascination with history. Carrie enjoys reading, traveling, baking, and beading—but not all at the same time!

Review

Tea Shop Folly by Carrie Fancett Pagels is a sweet romance story that readers will thoroughly enjoy.  It is about a woman, Lilly, that has inherited her great-aunt’s house full of old tea cups.  But for some reason, a young man, Theo, gets the impression that Lilly’s establishment is a tea shop, when it actually is not.  Through this confusion, as well as a visit from the local police due to no business license, a warm friendship and romance blossom between Lilly and Theo.  A funny situation turned into a blissful romance.  I would recommend this story to readers that enjoy historical fiction, romance.

"The Tea Shop Folly" sounds amazing. I think it's interesting that a Soo Locks engineer is featured in the storyline. I love visiting the Soo and could spend hours watching the boats going through the looks. Can't wait to read the book.

Me too!!! That is why it was so fun to write a Soo locks engineer hero!!! I haven't seen any romances set near the Locks and wonder if there are more!

I am from the Eastern Upper Peninsula and graduated from college there in Sault Ste. Marie where the story is set. When we went through a Lock tour last year I was thinking about a story set around the time of the Locks being built. Thanks!
