Summary Since graduating from high school, Gemma has looked about the same. Right before a weekend getaway with some high school friends, Gemma cuts and dyes her hair to try to get her boyfriend’s attention. But not only does he not really like the change, he breaks up with her. For the past month, Gemma felt like her relationship with Randy had been off and the break-up helped prove that. Once on vacation, it is just Gemma, Liz, and Drew. The girls start teasing Drew when he states that he currently isn’t dating anyone and it doesn’t help when Liz tells Gemma that maybe Drew is waiting for her. Will Drew and Gemma end up getting together, or will the unexpected re-appearance of Gemma’s old boyfriend, Randy, throw a wrench into their new found relationship? Author Information Heather B. Heather lives in the shadow of Mt. Timpanogos, with her husband, four children, and one pretentious cat. In her spare time, Heather sleeps. Review The first story in the Aliso Creek Series, Picture Perfect, is a fun, light-hearted, quick read. It is a contemporary-romance story involving the relationship of Gemma and one of her long time best friends from high school, Drew. The story discusses ideas of dealing with previous broken relationships and finding and falling in love again, especially when it is right before your eyes and you don’t even see it. I would recommend this novel to readers that enjoy stories of friendship and romance.
