Summary
As a child, Lucianna was left at a monastery and was raised by the nuns that lived there.  Another young girl, Elisabetta, was sent to be raised and receive an education from the nuns as well.  These two unlikely girls became friends.  Now an adult, Lucianna works as the servant of her friend, Elisabetta, and her friend’s daughter,Siri, forming a strong bond of friendship. Recently Lucianna’s friend has died and now she just takes care of the daughter.

Lucianna thought that she had long ago lost her chance at love and marriage, but much to her delight, Sir Balduin de Soler, has courted her and wants to marry her.  One day Lucianna’s blackmailing brother returns to her life, wreaking havoc.  Lucianna is petrified of what her brother will do.  Will he ruin her last chance at love?  Will Sir de Soler still want her in the end after knowing what she has done?

Author Information
Joyce DiPastena dreamed of green medieval forests while growing up in the dusty copper mining town of Kearny, Arizona. She filled her medieval hunger by reading the books of Thomas B. Costain (where she fell in love with King Henry II of England), and later by attending the University of Arizona where she graduated with a degree in history, specializing in the Middle Ages. The university was also where she completed her first full-length novel...set, of course, in medieval England. Later, her fascination with Henry II led her to expand her research horizons to the far reaches of his "Angevin Empire" in France, which became the setting of her first published novel, Loyalty's Web (a 2007 Whitney Award Finalist).

Joyce is a multi-published, multi-award winning author who specializes in sweet medieval romances heavily spiced with mystery and adventure. She lives with her two cats, Clio and Glinka Rimsky-Korsokov, in Mesa, Arizona.

Medieval author and 2007 Whitney Award Finalist for her book Loyalty’s Web, author Joyce DiPastena’s novels never disappoint.  With a degree in history and specialization in medieval England, Joyce understands how to craft an engaging, enchanting, and adventurous historical, medieval, romance novel.  From page one she takes readers on a journey to a land far away in the past where lords and ladies rule the land and have knights who protect them and minstrels who sing to them.  This book is the first novel in the A Hearts in Autumn Romance Series.  More novels about those who think they are too old to find love, but have a chance at it are sure to come.
