Summary
The economy has crashed and her parents are dead.  Carrie Ashworth’s main goal in life is to live peacefully with her clan and to keep her younger brother and sister alive.  To keep the clan organized and fed each member has a job to do, Carrie must grow the crops to feed the thirty-six clan members, as well as receive updates from Patrolman Oliver Simmons.  Everything has an order and a routine until Greg Pierce and his mother show up.

Greg formulates new ideas of ways to keep the clan protected, especially if or when relationships with Oliver go wrong.  Carrie is sure that Oliver will never turn on their clan, but many of the other members disagree.  The day at last comes when the clan must once again rely on the relationship and trust between Carrie and Oliver.  Will Oliver turn on the clan, especially when he is showing interest in Carrie, but Carrie is interested in Greg?  Will Carrie get together with Oliver to pacify the clan, or allow an unlikely romance with Greg to blossom?

Author Interview with Rebecca Belliston

Review
Rebecca Belliston has created a futuristic world where the economy crashes and the country is doing all it can to stay afloat.  It brings to light the struggles and the bonds among a group of clan members as they rely on one another for survival as each person completes his or her own task for the clan. I would recommend this novel to readers that enjoy futuristic/dystopian novels, as well as a little bit of adventure and romance.
