First Line Fridays -- 08.19.16
8/19/2016
It is Friday and I am joining Carrie from Reading is My SuperPower, Rachel from Bookworm Mama, and Beth from Faithfully Bookish in First Line Fridays (click the links and check out their first lines too). If you would like to join us, send Carrie a meassage and let her know! Today I am going to switch it up a little... Grab the book nearest to you and leave a comment with the first paragraph! Today I am going to post a paragraph from An Elegant Façade book two in the Hawthorne House Series by Kristi Ann Hunter. This is a book that has been on my much awaited and anticipated list and I should be starting it soon!! GOODREADS | AMAZON--KINDLE & PRINT There was something fascinating about the rhythm of writing, at least when someone else was doing it. Dip the quill, write a line, dip the quill, write a line. The quiet scritch of quill against paper broke the silence of the night, accompanied only by Lady Georgina Hawthorne's steady breathing ruffling the yellow curls on the end of teh doll clutched against her chest. What are you reading? What is your first paragraph? Open the book nearest you and post the first paragraph...

“The scent of rain laced the afternoon breeze as it shoved through summer-green trees, ramming ominous black clouds together like a craggy mountain ridge. Haley scanned the heavens as she dropped her bike on the edge of Gardenia Park, a swirled chocolate-vanilla cone in her hand." From The Wedding Shop by Rachel Hauck

LOVE Dawn's books! Thank's for sharing your first line from one of her's this week! "Josiah Yoder's heart pounded so hard, they could probably hear it in the next county, and it made him kind of disgusted with himself. He'd been to the Honeybee schwesters' farm at least a dozen times. The mere thought of possibly, maybe, hopefully seeing Rose Christner shouldn't make him feel as if he were going to have a heart attack." ~Like Bee To Honey by Jennifer Beckstrand

Oh what fun! So I just found out that Jennifer is that aunt to a girl I went to library school with. What a small world. LOL! This one is on my TBR pile too!

We only see what we want to see - in people, in love and in life. What we see is a choice, as is what we offer the world in return. And it's only behind the costumes and the masks that we can be who we truly are. The Ringmaster's Wife by Kristy Cambron

"The dawn mist swirled around Angelique MacKenzie and shrouded the forest trail. She didn't need the light of day to guide her. She knew every path of her beloved island and could run them blindfolded if need be." - Captured by Love - Jody Hedlund
