About the BookThe god of the soil is furious. Volcanic eruptions, sinkholes, earthquakes--everything points to his unhappiness. At least this is what the people of Armania in the Five Realms believe. Amidst the unsettling state of the world around them, the princes of Armania live their lives focused more on who will claim the throne after their sickly father, King Echad, dies. That is until Prince Wilek's concubine turns up dead--beside her, a bloodied message that seems to have come from the mother realms. About the AuthorJill Williamson writes fantasy and science fiction for teens and adults. Jill grew up in Alaska, staying up and reading by the summer daylight that wouldn’t go away. This led to a love of books and writing, and her debut novel, By Darkness Hid, won several awards and was named a Best Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror novel of 2009 by VOYA magazine. She loves writing workshops and blogs for teen writers at www.GoTeenWriters.com. She now lives in Oregon with her husband, two children, and a whole lot of deer. ReviewIn part 1.1 of the Kinsman Chronicles, Darkness Reigns, Jill Williamson delivers a fantasy story that readers will thoroughly enjoy. This story brings to light the different viewpoints of multiple characters, including Wilek, Charlon, and Mielle. The transition between the characters was smooth and greatly enhanced the story. This was a unique way of writing this story and was enjoyable to what each of these three characters was thinking. Doom and destruction are themes in this story. This book is a cliff-hanger as it is part one of three of the novel Kings Folly, which is releasing in three parts as an e-book before the entire book will be released in print. I would recommend this story to readers that enjoy fantasy.
