About the BookThe author of To Die For returns to the court of Henry VIII, as a young woman is caught between love and honor. Juliana St. John is the daughter of a prosperous knight in Marlborough. Though her family wants her to marry the son of her father's business partner, circumstances set her on a course toward the court of Henry VIII and his last wife, Kateryn, or Katherine Parr. Sir Thomas Seymour, uncle of the current heir, Prince Edward, returns to Wiltshire to tie up his business with Juliana's father's estate and sees instantly that she would fit into the household of the woman he loves, Kateryn Parr. Her mother agrees to have her placed in the Parr household for "finishing" and Juliana goes, though perhaps reluctantly. For she knows a secret. She has been given the gift of prophecy, and in one of her visions she has seen Sir Thomas shredding the dress of the king's daughter, the lady Elizabeth, to perilous consequence. As Juliana learns the secrets of King Henry VIII's court, she faces threats and opposition, learning truths about her own life that will upset everything she thought she once held dear. Find The Protective One - Amazon * Goodreads To celebrate the release, The Feisty One, will be on sale for only $.99 until September 10th. Thank you for all the support! Excerpt from The Protective One: The only way she’d be safe to go home again was when she heard that Solomon Squire had been booked into a maximum security prison where he belonged. She sighed, hoping that day would come soon, but forcing herself to acknowledge it might never come. “You keep pulling that face and it’ll stick that way.” The slow drawl of Haley’s older brother, Isaac, from the open doorway made her stomach smolder, and that ticked her off almost as much as the insult, but at least she didn’t jump in fear at a man’s voice. “Maybe I like my face this way.” She stood to face him and wished his looks were as off-putting as his sarcastic personality. But no, his face was perfect—olive skin, manly lines, and those green eyes that drew her in. Of course he had to have dark hair with just the right amount of curl and beefy muscles in all the right places. Isaac reached up and touched the skin next to her mouth. She tingled and tried to back away, but ran into the shelf. His hand dropped to his side. “You look stressed.” “Thanks. Such a compliment.” “I’m sorry.” He shoved a hand through his curls. “Haley would kick me in the pants if she knew you were unhappy. Take a break. I’ll watch the shop for a while.” MacKenzie’s eyebrows rose. “When did you decide to play nice?” Isaac scowled. “You still mad at me because I called you one of the gold diggers?” “Oh, big surprise that I would take offense to that.” They’d met for the second time in over ten years when Haley had brought MacKenzie into the store to train her. The only downside of this escape plan was she’d been so excited to see Isaac again. He was her first—not to mention most amazing—kiss at the very mature age of fourteen. He hadn’t remembered her or the kiss and that alone had about taken her under. His first line to her was, “Oh, another one of Haley’s gold digger friends looking for a billionaire.” What a jerk. A heartbreaking, much-too-good-looking jerk. “Hey, I’m sorry, all right?” He glanced at the display over her shoulder. “Don’t get all offended.” “Don’t get all offended?” MacKenzie pushed around him, but unfortunately brushed against his muscular arm. She felt the connection all the way down to her toes and it frustrated her even more. About the Authors

GiveawayAbout the Author
Rebecca H. Jamison has lived on a live volcano, excavated the bones of a prehistoric mammal, and won first prize at a rigged chili cook-off. She wrote novels just for fun until she made a New Year’s resolution in 2011 to submit a manuscript to publishers. Her published works are Persuasion: A Latter-day Tale, Emma: A Latter-day Tale, and Sense and Sensibility: A Latter-day Tale.
Rebecca grew up in Virginia. She attended Brigham Young University, where she earned a BA and MA in English. In between college and graduate school, she served a mission to Portugal and the Cape Verde islands. Her job titles have included special education teacher’s aide, technical writer, English teacher, and stay-at-home mom. Rebecca enjoys running, dancing, reading, and watching detective shows. She also likes to chat with teenagers. Summer is her favorite season of the year because she can eat watermelon and hang at the pool. Rebecca and her husband have five boys, so she knows how to pronounce a lot of dinosaur names and how to clean up Legos. They also have one wonderful daughter. About the BooksPersuasion: a latter-day tale
When Anne broke off her engagement eight years ago, she thought she'd never see Neil Wentworth again. But when Neil's brother buys the house she grew up in, it seems fate has other plans in store, and Anne is woefully unprepared for the roller coaster of emotions that accompanies Neil's return.
Emma: a latter-day tale
Emma's her name and matchmaking is her game! Quirky life coach Emma wants to help her first-ever client, a lonely nanny named Harriet. But all of her attempts at matchmaking result only in embarrassing miscues and blunders, leaving the pair disheartened and confused. This modern take on the Jane Austen classic shows that sometimes the greatest match is the one we make for ourselves.
Sense & Sensibility: a latter-day tale
As if it wasn’t bad enough to be getting food from Church welfare, I had to meet one of the Ferreros—and a good-looking Ferrero, at that.
Elly Goodwin, a brilliant programmer, is so desperate for a job that she takes one from her ex-boyfriend—the same man who put her family out of business. Then she meets Ethan Ferrero, who seems too good to be true. But Elly is far too sensible to unexpectedly fall in love—especially with her ex’s brother-in-law. But when Elly’s sister, Maren, dates the wrong guy, Elly must intercede before Maren’s passion clouds her common sense. Together, Elly and Maren must learn that a mixture of sense and sensibility is the perfect recipe for love.

Genre: Christian, Contemporary, Fiction, Romance, Suspense
Publisher: CreateSpace Publication date: March 13, 2016 Number of pages: 314
Growing up, life is idyllic for Lily Rose Cates due to her one constant – her father’s love. But in her sixteenth summer, all that changes without warning with her father’s sudden death. There begins Lily’s struggle to find herself and a life she thinks is gone forever.
Marriage to her prince charming promises fulfillment, but their happily-ever-after barely survives the honeymoon. Beneath the sophisticated façade lies a brooding man who hides dark secrets. When all Lily’s illusions of happiness shatter, she must make hard choices – abandon her husband or risk losing much more than her marriage. She flees their home in Detroit and sets out on a fearful journey to a house in Georgia that her husband knows nothing about. . . .
In spite of heartbreak and regrets, will she find the strength to survive whatever comes? Or will her husband find her and shatter all her hopes . . . again. This is one woman’s compelling tale of love and survival as she finds her way back home to faith and who she’s meant to be . . . in her father’s house.
My Father’s House is Rose’s first novel. Her devotional journal, God, Me, and Sweet Iced Tea: Experiencing God in the Midst of Everyday Moments won the Georgia Author of the Year Finalist Award in 2014. It was also awarded the Selah Finalist Award in the same year. Rose enjoys writing for her blog, Write Moments with God and engaging with her readers. A native Georgian, Rose has lived in a suburb of Augusta for the last thirty years. Before retiring from Georgia’s public school system, Rose taught English, French, and ESOL. She is currently an adjunct English instructor at a community college. In addition to reading and writing, Rose enjoys cooking, sewing, gardening, and spending time with her six children and their growing families. And yes, sweet iced tea is her beverage of choice.
How and why did the Lord lead you to write your latest release?
I wanted to write a story about a young woman with an indomitable spirit who in spite of devastating hardships, disappointments, personal loss and mistakes ultimately finds happiness. The story begins with a quote from the 23rd Psalm: goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life. I wanted the reader to take the journey with her, but I didn’t want the painful things to be the main focus of her triumphant story. Lily Rose finds herself in an abusive marriage. I know from firsthand experience how devastating that can be. The question is: Will she survive it? Lily Rose’s warm heart endears her to the reader who wants to know that she’s going to be all right, as her father had said she would. When Lily Rose reconnects with family and her faith, hope is restored and we get a glimpse of the bright future God has in store for her. The setting needed to play a critical part in the story as well. So, with my roots firmly planted in Georgia, I modelled my fictional town after so many small southern towns, and I set in some of my love of nature. Being a Southerner, I had definite ideas about elements I needed for this story to come alive. Besides fascinating characters and a distinctive setting, there had to be a little crazy, eccentric, and some downright meanness, mixed with suspense, romance, and lots of southern charm. One reader wrote that the story “made my heart smile.” I’m happy to accomplish that with this story.
Favorite book: Jane Eyre
Favorite scripture: Proverbs 4:18 Favorite ice cream: Pistachio Almond Favorite flower: Daffodils Favorite season: Spring Favorite musical: Les Miserables Favorite T.V. series: Downton Abbey Favorite country you want to visit: France Favorite Restaurant: Augustino’s Italian Eatery and Steaks in Augusta, GA Favorite holiday: Thanksgiving
1. Writing the story was a process of discovery. More than once an unplanned element burst onto the page.
2. Memories from my own life and travels informed the settings in the story. 3. I explored small towns in order to create my own. 4. While poking around a small town, I spied an old DeSoto in a ramble shack car shelter. 5. The novel was four years in the making. I put the manuscript away for a year when writing the story reopened some old wounds. 6. I laughed out loud writing parts of the story. 7. I always wanted to travel cross country in a big rig. I’ve never had the opportunity, so I gave one of my characters the ride I never had. YouTube videos were a go-to resource. 8. My Aunt Frances and Grandma Bronnie were front “porch dwellers”, who offered kindly words of wisdom while we spent many a serene hour rocking on the porch and sipping sweet iced tea. 9. My daddy had a trunk from his WWII days, and he loved to tell stories about his childhood, just like Lily Rose’s daddy. 10. In the South, hospitable folks always offer guests a glass of sweet tea. So, you’ll see lots of it being served in My Father’s House.
This is one of those stories that grips your heart and emotions from page one. Rose Chandler Johnson has written a tragically beautiful story of idyllic Lily Rose Cates. Lily has always thrived on her father’s love, but after he dies all that changes. Lily meets and marries rich lawyer Manuel Valenti, but after her marriage and her honeymoon, Lily’s world comes crashing down. With the help of a friend, Lily chooses to flee her abusive husband and to make a new life for herself using her inheritance and living in her “Father’s House.” Lily Rose and her story truly come to life in this well-crafted story and emotional journey. Readers will feel compelled to read this beautiful story cover to cover. Themes of love, loss, pain, and survival are prominent in this novel.

About the AuthorNaomi Miller mixes up a batch of intrigue, sprinkled with Amish, Mennonite, & English characters, adding a pinch of mystery – and a dash of romance! Naomi’s day is spent focusing on her writing, editing, and blogging about her experiences with writing. When she’s not working diligently to finish the next book in her Sweet Shop Mystery series, Naomi tries to make time for attending workshops and writers conferences. One of her favorites is the four-day event that the American Christian Fiction Writers (ACFW) organization holds annually. Naomi also enjoys traveling with her family, singing inspirational/gospel music, taking a daily walk, and witnessing to others of the amazing grace of Jesus Christ. Guest Post from Naiomi MillerHello! I’m Naomi Miller — and I’m honored to be featured on Celebrate Lit! I want to share with you how the title and cover for my debut book, Blueberry Cupcake Mystery, was chosen. This is a story I haven’t shared with anyone else — yet. The story behind the blueberry cupcake… I was actually writing an Amish suspense novel last winter, when God placed it on my heart to write a shorter story — a cozy mystery, with no suspense, no danger, but plenty of faith, family, compassion and community. While thinking of the best way to begin the story, my daughter made a batch of blueberry cupcakes, which happen to be one of my favorite treats. Of course, the idea to use a favorite treat was too good to resist. Then, during the early days of writing, I began experimenting with the idea of baking cupcakes — but adding blueberries before baking. Two favorite treats in one! And there you have it . . . once we had a picture of a blueberry cupcake, the designer quickly sent back a cover I fell in love with (although there were a few more tweaks before the final cover was approved). I actually began writing many years ago — 1990 to be exact. But I had just become a single mom and I didn’t have time to pursue it. I wrote notes, letters, articles, short stories, and I occasionally thought about a career as a novelist, but not once did I consider that dream to ever become a reality. Several years ago, after my children were grown, my daughter challenged me to write a novel. I began a sweet, Amish fiction story about a young girl—but about halfway into the story, someone was almost murdered! Needless to say, I was surprised, but kept going. Once done, I went back to the beginning to do a major re-write on what was now an Amish suspense novel. And that’s . . . the rest of the story. I’m also excited to be doing two special giveaways — 1) a gift bag full of treats and 2) an advanced reader digital copy of Christmas Cookie Mystery (but you’ll have to wait for it)! In the meantime, here’s the recipe for those delicious blueberry cupcakes: Blueberry Cupcakes Ingredients 1 white or yellow cake mix 2 cups fresh blueberries 3 eggs 1/3 cup oil 1 1/3 cup water Prepare cake mix according to the directions. Add blueberries and fold into batter. Bake following instructions on cake mix box. Icing 1 cup confectioner’s sugar 2 tbsp. milk additional milk as needed Directions Prepare icing, mixing small amounts of confectioner’s sugar with milk to desired consistency. Spread onto cooled cupcakes ReviewNaomi Miller has written a cute, quick Amish cozy-mystery story that readers will enjoy. This story takes place in the small town of Abbott Creek, where the local sweet shop is broken into and robbed. Katie Chupp and her co-worker and friend discover this one morning when they go into work and all the holiday treats and some other baked goods are missing. Naomi’s story is fun and enjoyable. I would recommend this story to readers that enjoy Amish fiction and cozy mysteries.
