Summary About forty miles west of Hagenheim, Germany, Margaretha is currently being courted by Lord Claybrook from England--the man she hopes to finally wed. During this courtship, Colin, an injured stranger also from England, shows up on her doorstep. Colin does not speak German, but luckily Margaretha can speak English and translates for him. Colin warns Margaretha about the danger she and her family are in because Lord Claybrook is not all that he appears to be. At first Margaretha doesn’t believe what Colin is telling her, but when she spies on Claybrook, she discovers the truth. With Colin’s help will Margaretha be able to save her family? Will she be rid of this suitor, Lord Claybrook, and will Colin fall for her or return to England without her?
