About the Book
Betrayed by her own mother, outcast Regina Shen has been trying to free her sister. Instead, she becomes a pawn in the World Federation’s struggle for power and succession.
Worldwide fertility has collapsed and the World Premier is dying, leading to a crisis of leadership. Battle lines are forming and Regina holds the keys to resolving the fertility crisis with her genome and elevating whoever can capture and control her into positions of power. Using her photographic (eidetic) memory of illegal books, she also holds the key to locating ancient artifacts that could save or destroy the Federation. In holding these keys, Regina should be treated as a queen, but outcasts aren’t even allowed to become citizens. Having survived the swamps, deserts, and wilderness, Regina continues to try to barter for freedom for her and her sister, but the stakes are too high. Federation agents hound Regina to uncover ancient artifacts and serve herself up as a lab specimen to prevent human extinction. The disgraced Inspector Joanne Demarco pretends to be Regina’s ally to get her to deliver the location of ancient DNA vaults that could change the balance of power. Meanwhile, ruthless rivals are willing to do anything to destroy Demarco and control Regina. Regina’s new journey will test her endurance, her ability to recognize opportunities, and her knack for avoiding capture. She will also face a tragedy and a strange twist of destiny that will shake her to her core and get her to question everything. Will she be able to overcome adversity or will she descend down an even more dangerous path? Books in the SeriesAbout the Author
He was raised by a roaming aerospace engineer, growing up in various parts of the United States and Europe, as well as traveling through Asia. He took to stories as his anchor, including the works of Asimov, Bradbury, and Heinlein, and has been writing since age eleven.
Growing up, he was inspired by his father’s engineering work on cutting-edge aerospace projects to look to the future. In an ideal world, Lance would find time loops where he could step out for a week at a time to read and write. Then he would return to the moment he left, without life getting in the way. Of course, since everyone would have the same ability, he suspects life would still sneak in. Lance is also the author of short stories and novelettes. Interview

Review
Book four in the Regina Shen series, Endurance, continues the adventure-filled story of the young women Regina Shen. Regina has escaped capture and is once again on the run again from the patrol-women/Department of Antiques’ Inspectors, but this time with friend and partner Ester in tow. In the past few months Regina and Ester have learned to work well together and always have each other’s backs. Regina relies on Ester’s help, especially in this trying time as she not only tries to locate the whereabouts of her sister, Colleen but searches for unique items to barter for the freedom of Colleen as well. This novel ends in a way that leaves readers hanging, hopefully in anticipation of another novel that will bring this riveting story to an end. I would recommend this novel to teens that enjoy a combination of science fiction and a dystopian society.

About the Book
On the run, outcast Regina Shen is determined to stop the Federation’s relentless attacks on her family and friends, but the stakes are much higher now and she is deep in foreign and hostile territory.
The Federation condemned Regina to live on the seaward side of barrier walls, but she crossed into the Federation where she continues to survive by her wits. Competing Federation agents vie to capture her and use her to acquire power, based on her genome being the key to prevent human extinction. When her sister is kidnapped again and agents close in, Regina flees west with a friend across deserts created by abrupt climate change. Raised on swampy islands and underwater salvage, they must adapt to different harsh environments. Guided by her photographic (eidetic) memory of illegal print books from before the Federation, Regina is determined to defy the Federation and find a treasure big enough to barter for freedom for her and her sister. In the cat-and-mouse game, can she find allies and ways to escape the Federation dragnet long enough to discover something to trade? Books in the SeriesAbout the Author

Join Regina Shen as the exiting, great, daring, and dangerous adventure continues in book three of the Regina Shen Series, Defiance. Regina is still on the run and continues to elude capture from the patrol-women who want her for her DNA in hopes to reverse a worldwide fertility catastrophe, as they think Regina’s genes are the key to saving the world. Having previously taken and tested Regina’s sister, Colleen, but found her DNA lacking, the patrol-women now want Regina more than ever. But Regina perseveres and comes up with a plan to barter for her own freedom and that of Colleen as well. But this plan leads Regina on a dangerous and thrilling journey not only across the Alaskan wilderness, but a personal journey to also discover herself, as Mo-Mere previously instructed and suggested. I would recommend this novel to teens that enjoy science fiction and dystopian fiction.

About the Book
After two years of training, outcast Regina Shen prepares to jump the barrier wall into the World Federation to hunt for her sister, but nothing goes according to plan. The Federation condemns Regina and her family to live on the seaward side of barrier walls.
For two years she avoided capture. Now the Federation is desperate to exploit her unique DNA in order to prevent human extinction. She would rather die than help the people who kidnapped her sister. The Federation’s notorious Department of Antiquities, under the command of Chief Inspector Joanne Demarco, polices barrier walls, destroys knowledge from the past, and pursues Regina for her genome. Now Demarco has a ruthless rival who aims to capture Regina as a means to overthrow Demarco. Regina has survived by her wits on swampy islands and salvage from sunken cities, including illegal print books not available in the Federation. Her photographic (eidetic) memory, access to these books, and an amazing teacher just may help her reach the university town in the Federation where they’re holding her sister. Pursued by Antiquities, Regina jumps the wall into the Federation. While making new friends and enemies, she must use her wits to avoid letting either of two rival inspectors capture her. Can she rescue her sister from an obvious trap? Books in the SeriesAbout the Author

The adventure with Regina Shen continues on in book two, Vigilance. This story is a continuation of book one, Resilience, and will make much more sense if you read book one first. In this novel, Regina has found a home base with her old school teacher, Mo-Mere, and a few other girls, Wendy and the twins. Mo-Mere continues to teach all the girls survival skills, as well as other skills she deems necessary. Also, the patrol-women are still on the search for Regina. With another storm on the way and the patrol women searching for all the girls that Mo-Mere is housing, she keeps the twins with her, but helps Regina and Wendy escape to the other side of the Wall. Wendy doesn’t make it and for Regina it is like losing her sister all over again. But Regina must press forward in the hunt for her sister. This is another somewhat fast paced story that teens that are fans of science fiction and dystopian fiction will enjoy.

About the Book
Regina Shen is an outcast forced to fend for herself in a world that bans books and artifacts from before the Great Collapse. An approaching storm could be the least of her problems. The World Federation condemns Regina and her family to live on the seaward side of barrier walls. Those walls were built to hold back rising seas caused by abrupt climate change and as a place to dump outcasts.
A hurricane threatens to destroy Regina’s world, tearing her from sister, mom, and home. Now Federation agents claim she has unique DNA that could prevent human extinction. It's too bad she doesn't trust them enough to barter fairly, let alone with her life. Three-hundred-plus-year-old Grand Old Dames rule the all-female Federation using a rigid caste system. Their notorious Department of Antiquities, under the command of Chief Inspector Joanne Demarco, polices barrier walls, destroys knowledge from the past to suppress dissent, and pursues Regina for her genome. Regina survives by her wits on swampy islands and thrives on salvage from sunken cities, including illegal print books from before the Federation. With her photographic (eidetic) memory, she defies Antiquities by consuming salvaged books not available in the Federation, which makes her an outcast even among her exiled peers. With Antiquities in pursuit, Regina fights to stay alive and avoid capture while hunting for her family. Does she have the resilience to survive both the storm and Antiquities? Review
An adventurous and action packed novel for teens, Lance Erlick has written a captivating and thrilling dystopian series, beginning with book one in the Regina Shen Series, Resilience. This story is about a young girl, Regina, which must survive in a cruel and harsh world. She lives as a scavenger in a swamp with her mother and younger sister and attends a little local community school. But when a ginormous hurricane-like storm hits, and everyone must flee for dry ground, Regina is separated from her family. Regina must learn to fend for herself and avoid the patrol-women that are now hunting her in order to survive. While fleeing the patrol-women that seem to be particularly interested in her for some reason, Regina wounds her foot when it gets stuck in an animal trap. This throws a kink in Regina’s escape and look for her family plan, but not for long. I would recommend this novel to any teen that enjoy actioned filled science fiction, dystopian novels.

With just a few simple words, Ellary goes from poverty to nobility—and lands right in the middle of a society that will soon crumble under the weight of hierarchy. Review
Constance Roberts has written a delightful and charmed new story in her Sigil in Shadow. Filled with excitement and adventure, as well as unexpected twists and turns, readers will be captivated by this fantastic book and not want to put it down. I was fascinated with Ellary’s ability and learning to use different herbs for cures. I also enjoyed seeing the interesting turn of events as Ellary goes from a poor young women, to a rich young women, and then having her riches torn away again. I don’t want to give too much away so, read this enchanting novel to discover what truly takes place. I would recommend this novel to readers that enjoy historical fiction.

After suffering from an abundance of creativity with not enough places to put it, she turned to writing. Which in the end, turned out to be exactly where she should have been putting it all along. Q&A With The Author: 1. What inspired your book? Actually, the cover. The art was done by Claudia McKinney from Phatpuppy art who also did all four of the covers for my first series. I saw the art in her portfolio and knew I wanted to write this guy’s story! So I bought the image first and wrote around it. 2. How do you spend your free time I have kids, what is this “free time” you speak of? I’m a foodie, I love going out to eat. I also love watching shows of all kinds, theater or T.V. Also reading or course. Tybolt’s a Deviant, a hated race immune to direct magic in a world where Wizards ensure survival. But when he loses his entire family to a spell-made storm he joins an elite group of Wizard hunters, organized beneath the new non-magic wielding king. Now eighteen, he spends his days capturing Wizards. But the nights are his, reserved to feed the starving villagers of Eriroc under cover of dark. There’s always more people in need than he can help, and one of these days he’s going to hang for theft from the royal kitchens. Although Tybolt and his fierce partner, Auriela, have imprisoned many Wizards, the one partially responsible for the storm that killed Tybolt’s family is still out there: Alistair. When an old informant claims to have information regarding their elusive prey, everything changes. In a cruel twist, Tybolt realizes he isn't who he thought he was at all. How can he save himself, the people, and those he loves while keeping his secrets safe? Can he hide his true nature and allow the corrupt king to remain on the throne? Or will he have to unveil himself and risk possible execution to save them all? Top Ten List1. I can’t wear lipstick without looking like a painted china doll. Seriously guys, it looks ridiculous. 2. I drop pretty much everything I touch. 3. I ruin SO MANY CLOTHES. I spill all the time, it’s a little embarrassing. 4. I love, love, love Thai food. 5. I used to struggle with depression and anxiety really bad. Once I learned how to deal with it, my likes and dislikes totally changed. Now I can’t stop buying things in really bright colors. 6. I couldn’t afford to put in granite counter tops in the house we bought and they were so bad! So, I painted them with chalk board paint. FYI -- they look pretty awesome. 7. I’m a super-fast reader. About 100 pages an hour. 8. I come across as an extrovert because I’m a performer, but I’m a TOTAL introvert. 9. When my kids ask me “why” I sing the theme song I made up about how I’m the meanest mom in America. Works like a charm. 10. I have an auto immune disease called, Ankylosing Spondylitis. It’s a mouthful and a pain in my butt. But we all work through hard things, this just happens to be mine. To view our blog schedule and follow along with this tour visit our Official Event page
