About the Book
Mercedes Grant is known to the world as Stormy Ryan, action hero. Her movie-star status has led to some unpleasant interactions in the past, and even a few stalkers, but none has ever come close enough to her to seem dangerous—until now. When she receives a death threat on her personal cell phone, she is understandably shaken. Seizing the opportunity to take some time away from the limelight while the police investigate the phone call, Mercedes escapes to her remote cabin near Idaho’s Snake River. She knows it is the perfect place to lie low, but she doesn’t realize how low she’ll actually feel once she arrives. After days of suffering from a cold she just can’t shake, Mercedes visits the town physician, Luke Parker. The handsome doctor, a fan of the stunning celebrity, performs the necessary tests and is devastated at the unexpected diagnosis he must give her. Mercedes is sick—really sick. He knows she can handle crazy fans, but the news he has to give is another story. As Mercedes struggles to come to terms with her new future, she relies on Luke’s support. But neither imagines the disease is not the only danger Mercedes is facing—because just out of view, someone is watching her and is determined to make good on their threat.

About the Author
The glitz and glamour of Hollywood has always been a fascinating subject for Kathi Oram Peterson. Her love of films and the people who star in them is what led to her writing this novel. She’s followed many actors’ careers and has read of their heartaches and joys. The idea of writing a story about a sick Hollywood star who finds herself in a rural setting, needing the help of a kind and caring country doctor, was intriguing. Shen then created a villain who would stalk the starlet, and that was the perfect combination for her new romantic suspense, because even though Kathi loves a good movie, writing a great novel readers will love is the absolute best experience.
After her children finish school, Kathi earned her English degree at the University of Utah. She worked for several years, writing and editing children’s books for a curriculum publisher. Upon leaving the workforce, she turned her attention to writing novels. She currently resides in Salt Lake City. Review
Thriller novel Star Struck by Kathi Oram Peterson will have readers on the edge of their seat from page one. Movie star Mercedes Grant recently received a death threat and now she is being stocked and to top it all off now she has leukemia. Doctor and friend Luke Parker comes to her rescue over and over again through this trying time. But will Mercedes survive the death threat and overcome her leukemia and get a chance at love with Luke? Filled with fun characters and a plot that will leave readers guessing, I would recommend this novel of fans of LDS suspense novels.

Review
Molly Jebber’s book two in the Keepsake Pocket Quilt series, Grace’s Forgiveness, will warm your heart. This story is about an Amish woman, Grace, which was born with a large birthmark on her face. All that everyone ever sees when they look at her is the birthmark, instead of who she is deep down. This has hurt Grace on many occasions, but then one day a handsome man catches her eye and treats her as though the birthmark is not there. Through joy, secrets, sorrows, forgiveness, and possibly love, can these two find their way to each other. This story is filled with loveable and heartwarming characters, as well as a story that will gently touch readers’ hearts. I recommend this story to readers that enjoy Amish, romance.

Painting Rain by Annette K. Larsen
How do you heal your heart after tragedy leaves you broken? When the person you loved didn’t deserve it and they can’t earn your forgiveness because they’re already dead? How do you move on, and heal, and love?
If you’re Princess Lorraina, you paint. A year ago Lorraina watched Tobias die, and she still doesn't know how she's supposed to heal—or forgive. How can she when she’s still running away? In an attempt to reinvent herself, she steps outside her comfortable life as princess and seeks the tutelage of a master painter—a man who is not at all impressed by her pedigree, and demands not just talent, but emotional honesty. Struggling to learn what’s being taught, she finds herself drawn to someone who not only knows her secrets, but who she once considered far below her notice. Now she is compelled to seek him out despite knowing their relationship would be forbidden if discovered. Staying away from him doesn’t seem possible when discovering him may be the key to healing her heart and rediscovering herself. Author Annette K. Larsen I was born in Utah, but grew up in Flagstaff, Arizona and St. Louis, Missouri, the fifth of seven children. I attended Southern Virginia University and Brigham Young University, where I studied English and Theater. I now live in Idaho with my husband and four children. I have Charlotte Brontë to thank for the courage to write novels. After being bombarded with assigned reading about women who justified abandoning either their families or their principles in the name of love, I had the great fortune of reading Jane Eyre. And that was it: finally, a heroine who understood that being moral and making the right choice was hard, and sometimes it hurt, but it was still worth it. After rereading it several years later, I realized that if I wanted more books to exist with the kinds of heroines I admired, then I might as well write a few myself. My books are about women who face hard choices, who face pain and rejection and often have to face the reality of sacrificing what they want for what is right. The consequences are often difficult or unpleasant, but in the end, doing what’s right will always be worth it. I believe there is no substitute for good writing or good chocolate. Fortunately, one often leads to the other.

Through her late mother’s enchanted diary, Katherine receives warning to keep hidden her otherworldly ability to perform arcana, a magic fueled by the power of the sun. Any misstep could mean ruin—and not just for her family name. The Order of the Eternal Sun is everywhere—hunting for those like her, able to feed on arcana with only a touch of the hand. But society intrigue can be just as perilous as the Order. The machinations of the fashionable elite are a constant threat, and those who covet Katherine’s arcana, seeking the power of her birthright, could be hiding behind the façade of every suitor—even the darkly handsome Earl of Thornewood. With so much danger and suspicion, can she give her heart to the one who captivates her, or is he just another after her power? Available to purchase on - AMAZON - Jessica Leake is author of Arcana, a historical fantasy with a heavy dose of romance, and The Order of the Eternal Sun, the next book in the series to be released summer of 2016. Favorite quote: Well, if I’m being philosophical, then my favorite quote is: “Little by little, one travels far.” –from J.R.R. Tolkein; but I absolutely adore anything the Dowager Countess on Downton Abbey says—she’s hilarious, but she can also be really wise, like with this gem: “All life is a series of problems which we must try to solve.” 2. Favorite book: This is such a tough one for a bibliophile! I could list favorites from my childhood, favorites in high school, college…but I’ll just stick with a recent favorite: The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater. Killer racehorses—such a cool concept. 3. Favorite author: It varies year-to-year, but I’d say Robin McKinley is consistently one of my favorites. 4. Favorite soda: I’m more of a sweet tea type of girl, but when I get a craving for soda, I love Dr. Pepper. 5. Favorite ice cream: I get made fun of because I’m so boring with this! Chocolate—anything chocolate :). 6. Favorite season: I’m a child of autumn, so I’m most drawn to fall—the smell of burning leaves, hot chocolate, tall boots, cute scarves—love everything about it! 7. Favorite movie: The Last Unicorn 8. Favorite country you want to visit: So many! Basically all of Europe, but particularly Ireland and Italy. 9. Favorite comic book character: Storm from X-Men 10. Favorite flower: Peonies This is one of the first interactions between Katherine and Lord Thornewood: My eyes widen. Surely he couldn’t be flirting with me. But then why does my pulse suddenly jump as he looks at me with his dark eyes? “Is it not true the fairer sex, by their very nature, should smell pleasantly?” “You answer a question with a question. How very diplomatic of you. But you are lucky tonight, Miss Sinclair. I feel very generous.” He grins, and the look is so rakish, I remember the words of my mother’s letter. I stiffen. How easily I let myself be taken in by him. He is exactly the sort of man my mother warned me about, of this I am sure. “Have I offended you?” he asks, but his face reveals not a shred of contrition. “I shouldn’t be surprised. You young debutantes are all just a bundle of emotions in pretty packaging.” “Are we indeed? I dare say it’s assertions like that which result in ambitious mamas parading their carefully groomed daughters before unappreciative men.” A spark of amusement appears in his dark eyes. “You seek to prove me wrong then?” “Perhaps if I had any interest in the game, I would trouble myself to take on such an endeavor. Unfortunately, I do not." Currently reading this book and loving it! Watch for my review coming soon... February 1--cherylbbookblog | Puddletown Reviews

2-Told You Twice (coming TBD) A review copy of this book was provided by RelzReviewz. Falcon Song Book Blast
2/1/2016
Falcon Song by Kristin Cross Kate can handle that Jason Falcon is gorgeous. And she can handle that he is fantastically talented, and competent, and funny, and sweet, and . . . . well, all of the things he is. What she isn’t sure she can handle is that he and his country band have suddenly become wildly famous. Even though she has always known that he near worships her, with millions of girls now throwing themselves at him, Kate is afraid that Jason will find he no longer loves Kate best. Then, when she discovers something completely earth shattering, it only makes her more unsure. Realizing that she can never settle for less than absolute devotion, as she is struggling to find what her place will be in Jason’s new top of the charts world, Kate wonders how you can ever truly know that things will work out. Does True Love Always Lead To Happily Ever After? Praise for Falcon Song “So much emotion came through the words of this story. I felt it all—regret, forgiveness, redemption, and a powerful love that wrapped it all together. I had a hard time putting it down. This story really touched me!” DL “I loved this story! Jason is one of my favorite heroes ever. I felt like I was right there with them through it all.” JM Excerpt Kate found Jason asleep on the porch swing again. Her drive had left her drained, without answers and somewhat resigned. As she looked down at him sleeping, still, the only thing she really knew was that she loved him. Loved him dearly. In spite of everything. When it came right down to it, that was what made her happy. She wished there was a way to separate this crushing heartache from the sweet peace she felt when she was with him. Who knows, maybe she could get really good at ignoring the parts of his life she didn’t understand. She sat down on the edge of the swing and touched his beautiful hair. His eyes opened slowly and this time there wasn’t a smile, but there was a sweet, sincere tenderness as he quietly watched her for a few seconds. She stroked his cheek and then ran a finger over his sensuous bottom lip. Even if he wasn’t perfectly trustworthy, he was definitely beautiful. She kissed the tip of her finger and put it back there on his lip and said softly, “Wake up, sleepy head. You’re gonna get a million ‘squito bites out here.” He sat up and reached out to touch her cheek. “I’ll live. How was Texas?” She sat down beside him. “Still big.” He smiled sadly, “I told Cody you’d driven to Texas to talk to God. He said he didn’t even realize God lived there. He’s decided that’s why Texans are egotistical.” She laughed. “That’s exactly what I needed just now. Laughing feels good. I thought I didn’t get to see you until tomorrow? What brings you tonight?” He groaned and made a sound of disgust. “Ah, I Googled myself. It was awful.” She pushed the porch swing with her foot. “I know.” “I’m not really as bad as it looks. I swear.” “I know.” Author Kristin Cross Kristin Cross was a mostly obedient child—unless her mom wanted her to put her book down. She grew up in the Rockies and traveled with her family enough to want to travel more and have adventures in all those exotic looking places on the map that she hasn’t been to—yet. Now, as an adult, she also loves relaxing at home in the mountains and coming up with stories about those places. Motherhood has been her best time yet, and she wishes she’d had more than just four marvelous children. She loves a good storm, a beautiful sunset, the wind in her face, puppies, and fresh mangos with her shrimp. And her husband, DJ. She truly adores DJ.
